John MacDonald is in his mid-fifties and presently resides in Andalucia(Zuheros), The Croatian Island of Rab and Suffolk (Kessingland). Although a British subject he was brought up in Australia and New Zealand. He has worked in Southern Africa and Saudi Arabia as well as a stint in the British Army serving in Germany.
He writes freelance for English, Italian and Croatian magazines as well as several English Speaking Spanish periodicals, he also takes his own photographs.
With a special interest in the Spanish Civil War, John has shed new light on the controversial Fallen Soldier photograph made by Robert Capa in 1936.
John is a qualified photographer and has a diploma in freelance journalism. He also studied archaeology with the University of Exeter.
